This chemist's shop is located at number 176 of Corso Vittorio Emanuele, just across Piazza Navona and around the corner of Piazza della Cancelleria. Devoted to the health and well being of its customers, its history goes back to the 14th century when the shop's premises were in Piazza S. Pantaleo. In the mid 19th century, the "spezierìa" (literally: drug shop) was established as "Pontificia Farmacia Langeli", and given the exclusive privilege of providing the Vatican with ointments for the embalmment of the Pope's corpse, and with the scented balm used to homage Queens and Empresses known as "Rosa d'Oro". In this same period the pharmacy was authorized to use quinine as treatment against malaria. At the end of the century, with the opening of Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the shop moved to the present premises.
The store has been thoroughly modernized throughout the years and offers qualified staff, kindness and assistance for those who need special attention. It has a wide range of homeopathic, cosmetic and veterinary products besides preparing galenicals when needed.
