Since 1902 Carucci has its shop in Via di Ripetta, one of Rome's oldest roads, built under the papacy of Leone X by Raffaello Sanzio and Antonio Sangallo the younger.
The firm is family run and currently employs the fourth generation since its founder Enrico Carucci, master saddler at the S. Michele a Ripa school of arts and crafts, opened a craftman's workshop at the birth of his first son Mario. We are proud to serve the great-grandchildren of our first clients, and of commercial bonds with some of our suppliers which started more than ninety years ago; amongst which the Milanese 'Francesco Maglia' company, the first Italian umbrella maker firm since 1854, producer and exporter of very high quality articles.
In 1999 the firm was chosen for Rome's Council project Urbs Mirabilis whose aim is to identify and support the city's oldest commercial activities.
