It is 1886 when Ubaldo Vitali starts his self employed business as silversmith. In 1926 he moves to Via Croce, a few steps away from the Spanish Steps, headquarters of the current Franchi Silversmiths, where Adolfo Franchi begins as a young apprentice in 1944 when he was ten years old. Today Adolfo works in collaboration with his three sons and the Franchi's activity is in the produce of contemporary handmade silver- wear. They are furthermore experts in the restoration of silver and gold objects and can modestly state on going reputation of experience with the Official National Hertitage Office of Rome, Molise, Abruzzo and Sicily. The Franchi Silversmith is today renowned within the artisan market and is an important point of reference for both young and established designers of contemporary objects.
